It is obvious that Stanley did not want us to figure-out his movie because once something is predictable and understandable, we are not trapped by it. Stanley has successfully trapped us with this movie and though he is gone from the earth, nothing we can do will solve the mystery of the Overlook Hotel and free us from reliving what happened in the Overlook Hotel over and over and over again. What a marvelous work of art.
